QKindy and early childhood magazine

QKindy and early childhood e-magazine

QKindy 2017 Issue 2 (PDF, 1.9MB) (DOCX, 32KB)

QKindy and early childhood includes information on the department's initiatives and programs dedicated to the education and care of Queensland children from birth to eight years.

In the Summer 2017 QKindy, meet the six Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and community members who are drawing attention to early childhood education as part of the department's Elders as Storytellers social marketing campaign.

The magazine also features two schools in Far North Queensland and Mackay who are supporting successful transitions to school using Age-appropriate pedagogies and the Australian Early Development Census.

You can catch up with the Deadly Kindies ambassador Johnathan Thurston, and meet Sally and Possum's new friend Skip on an A3 pull out poster.

We also explore the latest research in brain development, reading with children and developing fine motor skills—complete with a recipe for playdough to get those small muscle groups moving.

Early childhood service providers and state schools are receiving copies in the post to share among staff, parents and carers.

If you'd like to order a copy or more copies, please email ECEC.CommunityEngagement@det.qld.gov.au.
