QKindy 2017 Issue 1 (PDF, 12.4MB) (DOCX, 37KB)

QKindy and early childhood includes information on the department's initiatives and programs dedicated to the education and care of Queensland children from birth to eight years.

In this issue, we'll catch up with The Early Years Count ambassador, Jay Laga'aia and find out what he's been up to lately.

You can read about a community event that supports families and kids who are preparing to start school.  The event helps to promote reading in early childhood and how, as a community, we can work together to support children's learning.

This issue also includes tips on how everyday moments can make a difference to your child's early learning, how to create learning experiences with 'messy play' and some easy ways to get your child thinking about numbers to make the early years count.

Early childhood service providers and state schools are receiving copies in the post to share among staff, parents and carers.
